Classroom E, the Japan Foundation, Bangkok

The year 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Doraemon, one of all-time favorite Japanese animations in Thailand. Having broadcasted for several decades, many generations have been accustomed to Doraemon until it became a part of childhood memories. This also can be said that this popular animation is regarded as an introduction to Japanese culture for beginners.

Our speaker, Asst. Prof. Dr. Asadayuth Chusri, talked about Doraemon in many perspectives including animation history, hidden messages, cultural insights as well as the influence towards Thai society. With interesting insights and unprecedented facts, the audiences enjoyed 2 hours talk with full attention and showed their active engagement in the Q&A session as well.
