‘Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting 2025’

|
Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) 2025 invites you to experience a wide range of contemporary performances under this year’s theme, “The Tip of an Iceberg.” This theme reminds us that what we see in performance is just a small part of a much deeper, more complex creative process and support system. Beneath that surface lies the foundation of creative work—labor, friendship, community, socio-political context, and the care that molds each work of art. Uncover the deep meanings of performing arts through a curated lineup of activities over five days, from March 12–16, 2025, at the Jim Thompson Art Center and various art venues across Bangkok.
Now in its 6th edition since its inception in 2017, BIPAM 2025 continues as Southeast Asia’s biannual gathering for performing arts professionals worldwide, showcasing performances from a diverse range of countries. This year, you can enjoy 6 shows from 7 countries, and meet, exchange ideas with, and learn from artists, producers, and performing arts professionals from around the globe—all gathered in the heart of Bangkok at the Jim Thompson Art Center.
BIPAM 2025 includes six programs: Performances, Talks, Tables (presentations and discussions), Routes, Workshops, Late Night Networking, and many more special activities.
Highlight!
BIPAM 2025, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, is proud to present 3 exclusive programs including:
- Juggle & Hide (Seven Whatchamacallits in Search of a Director) (TH) by Wichaya Artamat from For What Theatre in collaboration with DuckUnit – A non-human performance that explores freedom of expression and censorship.
- Ridden (ID, JP) by Leu Wijee & Mio Ishida – A powerful work by emerging dancers that conveys the emotional and existential impact of confronting natural disasters.
- “Future Dictionary”, where artists discuss key terms from their native language that inspire their creative works and explore how these words connect across different cultures and social contexts. This marks the first time the Future Dictionary platform collaborates with artists in Southeast Asia—a region rich in diverse languages.
