“Japanese Cinema Screening: “The Scars of War” at the Thai Film Archive”

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Japan Foundation, Bangkok and the Thai Film Archive invite you to attend the film program “The Scars of War.” This program explores the impact of war through multiples world films including two powerful Japanese films that reflect the pain, trauma, and lasting scars left in the human psyche — screening during this May and June, 2025.

Sadako Story (1989)
Directed by KOYAMA Seijirô | 96 minutes | Japanese audio with Thai subtitles
Based on the true story of “Sadako,” a girl who survived the Hiroshima atomic bombing at age 2. She grew up full of life and passion for sports, but fate eventually led her down a heartbreaking path.
