“Monthly Japanese Film Screening at Thai Film Archive”

The Japan Foundation has been a consistent co-organizer of Japanese film screenings at the Thai Film Archive since before 2011. These screenings are part of the Thai Film Archive’s long-running monthly World Cinema program, which introduces audiences to a diverse range of international films, including selections from Japan.

SEN-RIKYU (1989)

Although 27 years have passed since the great tea master Sen no Rikyu died on the order of the taiko, Toyotomi Hideyoshi , his favorite and last disciple, Hongakubo, communicates with him daily as if he were still alive. One day Hongakubo Receives a surprise visit from Lord Oda Urakusai’s earnestness and one year later decides to tell him what he know about a certain tea ceremony help at the Myokian tea House in Yamazaki, Rikyu’s favorite in his later year.
