What is JFF Theater?

JFF Theater is an online streaming　service that distributes Japanese films and videos worldwide, with multilingual subtitles, all free of charge. Through this website, the Japan Foundation aims to create a platform where Japanese films and videos can be viewed anytime, anywhere.

Based on the theme Moved, Touched & Inspired, JF strives to connect with international audiences, cultivating meaningful connections and inspiring exchanges among both new and longtime fans of Japanese cinema.

JFF Discover Kabuki Online brings together online streaming, Cinema Kabuki screenings to introduce Kabuki to overseas audiences in a clear and approachable way.

Starting August 5, 2026, seven Kabuki titles will be streamed free of charge on JFF Theater, with subtitles in nine languages, in 119 countries worldwide across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
