The Bangkok International Children’s Theatre Festival (BICT Fest), supported by the Japan Foundation, presents a special program: BICT on the MOVE 2025, A mini-international theatre festival. This initiative brings creative performances and workshops by artists from France and Japan, traveling from Bangkok to various provinces. It aims to inspire and provide access to international performing arts for children, educators, and local communities across the country.

One of the festival’s highlights is “Tonbi (Black Kite)”, a performance from Japan.

A unique audio-visual performance by Usaginingen, an artist family from Teshima, Japan. Using live music, storytelling, shadow puppetry, and handmade visuals, the performance retells the true story of how local residents transformed a polluted “island of garbage” into a place of hope—through the eyes of a black kite.

Other performances include:

  • Pour Hêtre (To (Be)ech) by Compagnie Iéto from France
A mesmerizing acrobatic duet featuring two performers who explore the connection between humans and nature through a lifelike “beech tree.” Performed entirely without spoken words, Pour Hêtre communicates through movement and physical expression, filled with imagination and deep meaning, making it accessible and enjoyable for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Performances by Thai Artists
Enjoy a musical storytelling performance, “The Stump House and Friends,” presented by seasoned storyteller Bird Kidjam (Neelacha Fuangfookiat), a magical theatrical storytelling show, “The Characters,” by VK.Vich, and do not miss the short film screening for kids and everyone.
One day only, on Sunday, 10 August 2025 at One Bangkok Park.

In addition to activities open to the public, BICT Fest and our local partners are collaborating with schools in each province, inviting students and teachers to enjoy performances and participate in workshops that offer practical learning opportunities. These events will take place on: Friday 8 August at One Bangkok Park — for nearby schools in Bangkok; 13-14 August at Wat Muang Khan School, Ang Thong Province, and; 19-20 August at Phra Kaew Asa Witthaya School, Loei Province (closed sessions).
