Synopsis
A female newspaper reporter undergoes a number of unusual experiences as she covers the people of Nagaoka. Elicits Nagaoka’s beautiful landscape and history of overcoming numerous wars and disasters through a fantastic tale. Out of the blue, local newspaper reporter Reiko gets a letter from her former lover Kenichi saying that he wants her to see the Nagaoka fireworks and a stage performance. With newspaper coverage in mind as well, Reiko decides to visit Nagaoka.

『転校生』の大林宣彦監督が、新潟県長岡市を舞台にしたヒューマンドラマ。女性新聞記者が長岡の人々を取材するなかで、不思議な体験を重ねていく。幻想的な物語を通じ、数々の戦渦や災害を乗り越えてきた長岡の歴史と美しい風土を描き出す。
地方新聞記者の玲子（松雪泰子）に、かつての恋人・健一（髙嶋政宏）から突然「長岡の花火と舞台を見てほしい」という手紙が届く。玲子は取材を兼ねて長岡を訪れることに。 |
