Since the commencement of the project, they have been watched in about 50 countries, with over 720,000 views, receiving high acclaim from viewers. The works distributed through this project span the three genres of contemporary theater, dance performance and traditional performing arts and can be viewed free of charge on the Japan Foundation’s official YouTube channel.  Exclusively for Thailand, the Japan Foundation, Bangkok, with support from BIPAM(Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting), have provided Thai translation for 7 contemporary and dance performances. Additionally, the Japan Foundation, Bangkok has provided Thai translation for another 10 traditional works.

Enjoy a variety of contemporary theater and dance by some of the most innovative artists from Japan, recording in high quality as if watching from the front-row seat in the theatre. The list includes fascinating works such as NODA Hideki’s play, “Red Demon”, a theater produced by HIRATA Oriza, “Tokyo Notes” International version, and a performance by Contact Gonzo, “xapaxnannan:Ourfuturesports.” To relive and reexamine the passage of Japanese traditional art forms, the masters, well versed on different genres of traditional performances and folks, will share their valuable knowledge on the subjects. Japanese traditional performing arts are highly praised for their crafted skills which the quality inherits, passing on from generation to generation, representing the beliefs, reverence of the nature and lifestyles of prior generations. The list includes the demonstrations of “KABUKI”, a popular theater famous around the world with a history of 420 years, “Noh”, a masked music and dance drama with a beauty that transcends time, grew up alongside Noh, but unlike the very serious dance, “Kyogen” is comic that emphasizes dialogue and the human side of things, “Taiko drum”, and many more.
