Synopsis
Ayumi seems to be just an ordinary high school student, but he is actually being trained by his grandmother Aiko to take on the role of “Tsunagu.” As he facilitates reunions for a diverse range of clients – an arrogant middle-aged man who lost his mother to cancer, a high school girl whose friend died in a bicycle accident, and an office worker who has been waiting seven years for his missing fiancee to return – he develops various doubts. Can the living be saved by meeting their deceased loved ones again? And what of the dead? These doubts lead Ayumi to seek the truth regarding the mysterious deaths of his own parents.

直木賞作家・辻村深月の同名小説を実写映画化したヒューマン・ファンタジー。たった1度だけ死んだ人に会わせてくれるといわれる使者“ツナグ”の見習いとなった少年が、人と人との繋がりについて学び、成長していく。
一見、ごく普通の高校生・歩美（松坂桃李）は、祖母のアイ子（樹木希林）から“ツナグ”を引き継ぐ途中の見習い。母をガンで亡くした横柄な中年男や、自転車事故で友人を失った女子高生、失踪した婚約者を７年待ち続けるサラリーマンの男など、様々な依頼人の再会に立ち会う過程で、歩美は様々な疑問を抱く。会いたかった死者に会うことで、生きている人は救われるのか。そして死者は…。その疑問は、自身の両親の不可解な死の真相へも向けられていく。 |
