The Japan Foundation, Bangkok and Goethe-Intsitut Thailand proudly present “The Strangers”, an international collaborative dance performance. “The Strangers” will be held at Bangkok Arts and Culture Center from Thursday 4th July to Saturday 6th July 2019.
The cast consists of international dancers from Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia in collaboration with the dramaturg, Julia Hesse, from Germany and the director, Leandro Kees, from Argentina/Germany. It is an honest and courageous look at the human condition. Overcoming cultural differences and prejudices and asking: Where do I find myself in you? This dance and theatre performance is an optimistic call for understanding and trust in an age of profound changes in society all over the world.
Started in summer 2018, this dance production is a German-Asian collaboration initiated by the Goethe-Institut Osaka and the ricca ricca*festa Okinawa which was supported by the Japan Foundation Asia Center. After the three-day stop in Bangkok it will continue its tour to Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines, sparking dialogues around the questions of identity within the Asian community.
