At first, Shota’s summer seems ordinary, days by the sea with his friend Tetsuo, avoiding his little sister Sayaka. But everything changes when their father Jun falls seriously ill. Words like “fifty-fifty” begin to surface, things the children don’t fully understand.

When Jun returns home, weaker than before, he gently tells them he has cancer. As Shota struggles to act strong, Sayaka remains innocently unaware. A visit from Jun’s former student, Shiho, brings brief warmth, reminding him of the quiet strength of connection.

After Jun’s passing, Shota, Sayaka, and their mother try to move forward, carrying grief in different ways. Through Shiho, who also knows loneliness, Shota begins to understand empathy, loss, and what it means to reach out.

Based on the beloved juvenile novel, “Seven Days War” is one summer adventure story of Mamoru and his classmates’ getaway and their friendship which is put to test when the adults start to chase them. Directed by Yuta Murano of “Pocket Monsters” TV franchise and emerging Japanese animation filmmaker, this is the first film to make this popular novel into an animation.

Few days before the summer vacation starts, in a small country town in Japan, 10^th grader Mamoru Suzuhara finds out that his neighbor Aya is moving away in two days due to family matters. Mamoru has had a crush on Aya, whom he has grown up with, but has been unable to confess his love to her. The next morning, he suggests to her out of the blue that they run away together until her birthday. He is overjoyed when Aya agrees, but somehow his classmates Kaori, Soma, Saki, and Hiroto end up joining them in their escape. They scheme to run away from home just for a week to celebrate Aya’s 17th birthday while she’s still in town. Their destination is a former coal factory.

ไม่กี่วันก่อนวันหยุดฤดูร้อนจะเริ่มขึ้น ณ เมืองเล็ก ๆ แห่งหนึ่งในชนบทของญี่ปุ่น นักเรียนชั้นม.ปลายปี 1 อย่าง มาโมรุ ซุซูฮาระ พบว่า อายะ เพื่อนบ้านที่เติบโตมาด้วยกันของเขากำลังจะย้ายออกไปในอีก 2 วันข้างหน้า เนื่องจากสาเหตุภายในครอบครัว   ทั้งที่มาโมรุนั้นแอบชอบอายะมาโดยตลอดแต่ยังไม่เคยได้สารภาพรักกับเธอ เช้าวันต่อมา มาโมรุจึงโพล่งกับอายะเพื่อชวนให้หนีไปด้วยกันจนกว่าจะถึงวันเกิดของเธอ เขาดีใจมากเมื่ออายะตอบตกลง แต่กลับกลายเป็นว่าเพื่อนร่วมชั้นของทั้งคู่อย่าง   คาโอริ, โซมะ, ซากิ และฮิโรโตะต่างก็มาด้วยเสียอย่างนั้น พวกเขาวางแผนที่จะหนีออกจากบ้านเพียง 1 สัปดาห์เพื่อฉลองวันเกิดปีที่ 17 ให้กับอายะระหว่างที่เธอยังอยู่ที่เมืองนี้และจุดหมายปลายทางของพวกเขาก็คือโรงงานถ่านหินเก่าแห่งหนึ่ง

The story takes place on a small island near the main island of Okinawa, many of the characters are trying to come to terms with their past and present. The Crying Wind is based on stories by MEDORUMA Shun, a prize-winning writer from Okinawa, who also then wrote the screenplay for it and is directed by HIGASHI Yoichi. Okinawa is a place where the past and present are folded into one. The unhealed scars of World War II, the horrors that the Okinawan people faced at the hand of the Japanese Imperial soldiers, and the trials that the Okinawa faced and still face today with regards to the US army fill the background and story of this film.

เรื่องในภาพยนตร์มีฉากหลังเป็นเกาะเล็กๆ ใกล้กับเกาะใหญ่ของหมู่เกาะโอกินาวะนี้ ตัวละครในเรื่องกำลังดิ้นรนจัดการกับทั้งอดีตและปัจจุบันของพวกตน เรื่อง “เสียงลม” นี้ดัดแปลงมาจากนวนิยายของ เมโดรุมะ ชุน นักเขียนมือรางวัลจากโอกินาวะผู้ซึ่งมาเขียนบทให้ภาพยนตร์ด้วย ส่วนฝีมือกำกับเป็นของ ฮิงาชิ โยอิจิ โอกินาวะเป็นสถานที่ที่อดีตและปัจจุบันรวมกันเป็นหนึ่ง ฉากหลังของภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้คือบาดแผลที่หลงเหลือจากสงครามมหาเอเชียบูรพา ความเลวร้ายที่ชาวโอกินาวะโดนทหารของจักรพรรดิกดขี่ และผลพวงหลังสงครามที่ยังคงอยู่จนถึงทุกวันนี้ในรูปของกองกำลังสหรัฐ

The story begins when Mr. and Mrs. Tazaki, a young couple, are blessed with their first baby, a girl named Keiko. But Keiko is a disabled girl with hearing difficulties and mental a defect. Accordingly, they encounter many obstacles and run into a lot of difficulties. Keiko attends a school for the deaf and grows up with other handicapped children and their folks. Centering on heart-warming rapport between Keiko and her mother, this film gives a vivid description of Keiko as she grows up, helping each other with handicapped children and their folks, as well as their teachers. After graduation, supported by many people, she throws all her energies into action to turn her dream into reality by opening “Home of Acorns”, a workshop for handicapped people, hoping that they can live in affluence too.
